askmyGP

AskmyGP is a quick and convenient way for our patients to access our services in a timely manner.

It is open from 7am to 3.30am and we would encourage patients to submit their requests as early as possible.

Our aim is to respond to your request on the same day as long as it’s submitted before 3.30pm. Sometimes this is not possible due to unforeseen staffing issues but we always try to do our best.

Whilst askmyGP closes at 3.30pm, the practice remains open and the phonelines are open for urgent calls. The receptionist may signpost your to a pharmacy or ask you to submit an askmyGP the next working day if it’s not urgent. If you feel it cannot wait, please advise the receptionist of this and they will pass to a GP for urgent triage. The GP will then decide if this is clinically urgent.

You may request a particular clinician or method of communication but ultimately, the GP will decide which is best. For example, you may have asked for an online message back but the GP has a number of questions to ask so they may give you a call instead.

askmyGP is not an instant messaging service so please allow an appropriate amount of time for a response and please do not send follow up or duplicate requests as this may delay your original request. The service allows you to send forms and photos etc, but we do ask that you DO NOT send photos of intimate areas unless a GP specifically asks you for these.

It is not a replacement for the NHS Inform website, so you should refer to this for self help in the first instance.

At the end of your askmyGP session, you will be asked to provide some feedback. We take this seriously and may contact you for more information. We ask that you do not talk about any conditions or share any personal information in this feedback.

We thank you for using our service.
